What is Achieve Your Dreams After the Marines?
You don’t have to look hard to find Service Members and Veterans out there doing awesome things. That could be advocating, starting non-profits, or taking chances and starting their own businesses.
That is what really prompted the new series volume “Achieve Your Dreams After the Marines.”
To make sure these individuals and their endeavors are highlighted to a broader community.
Brandon Busch, United States Marine Corps Major, is a shining example of above and really an ideal candidate to be our first interview. Not only is he the owner of Lift Chocolate, but he still serves.
So what did we learn in the interview?
Brandon didn’t go seeking chocolate, chocolate found him – during the interview he had mentioned that while attending pastry school he found the only part of his curriculum that challenged him was, in fact, chocolate. I couldn’t help but smile- it’s almost the epitome of a Marine in that he found his passion and ultimately his business by continuing to perfect the one thing that challenged him the most.
And as a repeat customer, I can vouch for the fact that he certainly did perfect his craft.
The name Lift Chocolate is an ode to his service in the Marine Corps – Brandon is a CH-53 Heavy Lift helicopter pilot in the Marine Corps, so naturally the name makes perfect sense.
There is a difference between chocolatier and chocolate makers – Brandon is defined as a chocolatier, which is an individual that makes confectionery from chocolate. Chocolate makers are exactly how it is describes- they are the individuals or companies that actually create the chocolate from cacao beans and other ingredients.
Lift Chocolate donates chocolate medallions to the Chris Kyle Frog Foundation – On an annual basis the Chris Kyle Frog Foundation holds a gala, one of their flagship events where proceeds go to support the foundation itself. For those who may not of the Chris Kyle Foundation, it was founded by the wife of American Sniper Chris Kyle, a decorated Navy SEAL who was shot and killed by a Marine Corps Veteran that reportedly had PTSD (https://www.chriskylefrogfoundation.org/).
Brandon donates these beautifully crafted medallions in honor and support of the foundation:
You can order Lift Chocolate and have it shipped anywhere in the country – chocolates can be ordered online at www.liftchocolate.com. It is packaged in an attempt to avoid any melting. My personal favorites? ANYTHING with the orange in it and now, my new favorite, the Dark Chocolate Cherry Cordials.
